Advanced Image Creation Assignment
Project 4 of 4
Project is worth 25% of module grade
MATTE PAINTING 4.
The Brief
Using a 10-30 second clip from a movie of your choice add an original matte painting to the scene.
It’s optional if you want to add extra animation within the matte painting.
Deliverables
640 x 480 After FX workspace
Include Audio
Between 10–30 seconds
All imagery must be your own
Please make use of:
Keyframes & tweening
Multiple layers
Masking
Effects
When you have completed your project please create a folder and name it with your “surname_firstname” ie. Lebowski_Jeff.
In this folder place the following:
1. Your final movie *(Please export your project as a 480 x 360 pixel flv movie).
2. The after effects project file (.aep)
3. A folder called images with the psd matte painting.
4. Scanned image(s) of any sketch work or planning.
Grading
Your project will be graded on a combination of technical proficiency, creativity and the professional appearance of the final production. Class attendance will also be taken into account.
Important:
*All after effects layers must be named appropriately.
*Sketch out your ideas on pencil & paper prior to going near any application.
Deadline
Final Submission date: Dec 17th
Recommended Time
It is recommended that the student employ one half hour to one hour outside of college for every class hour in the college.
Aims and Objectives
1. To become familiar with after effects at an advanced level.
2. To understand how image manipulation is used to alter appearance and add special effects in motion pictures.
